Vallorcine is part of ski area Chamonix-Mont Blanc, a collection of several ski areas. Children are able to learn to ski, ice-skate or sled. You yourself are able to (freestyle) ski, snowboard or cross-country ski. Are you in the mood for an adventure? Go ice-climbing with a guide on frozen rivers and waterfalls. Or have yourself be pulled by dogs or horses outside the beaten tracks. Everything is possible!
From Vallorcine, with the ski lift at your doorstep (but also from Le Tour), you reach broad quiet hills that look out over the entire valley of Chamonix. At the side of Vallorcine, you enjoy the slopes hemmed by trees. The 19 ski slopes, of which 11 blue and 8 red, lead you through mountain pastures and forests with a beautiful view of the Mont Blanc, the Swiss Alps and the Emosson dam. After a fantastic descent, you return to Vallorcine at a short walking distance from Dormio Resort Les Portes Du Mont Blanc.
The variation of different slopes makes this picturesque ski area amazing for everybody. Atmospheric torchlight descents are organised on a regular basis. The area consists of 55km of ski slopes, twisting through the forests with 4 black slopes, 13 red, 8 blue and 2 green slopes. The ski area Planards, just outside the centre of Chamonix, is a large ski area including a long blue slope and a red slope that hosts international matches. Fun for the young and the old is the Luge Alpine Coaster, a rollercoaster with a length of 1,300m.
Located in the village Le Buet, this ski area is ideal for children and beginners, but also for cross-country skiing. It contains 8km of signposted cross-country tracks, including one track for beginners. Pedestrians can hike with snow shoes on the paths next to the cross-country tracks.
Here you can ski at every level with a beautiful view of the Mont Blanc. The true attractions of these slopes below the Aiguilles Rouges are the many off-slope possibilities. Experienced free-riders take their opportunity during the more than four hours lasting tour through the Vallée Blanche. On the side of Flégère, you will break your personal record on the new speed slope with a length of 500m and a height-loss of 150m.
In this famous area, you are able to ski with large differences in height. The fiery slopes are divided among three slopes: the glaciers of Argentière, Lognan and the Pendant. It contains mainly red and black slopes and the Lognan ski area includes a freestyle snow park and a track for snowboard cross.
