Challenging winter activities

Climbing the 4820-metre-high Mont Blanc is the ultimate challenge for many mountaineers. This two- or three-day severe glacier climb on the highest mountain of the Alps is only suitable for extremely well-trained mountain walkers. Are you less well-trained but keen to see the view? You can take a gondola from Chamonix to Plan de l’Aiguille. You then change to another gondola, which will take you to the top of the Aiguille du Midi, at a height of 3,842 metres. If you take another - shorter - lift you will reach the highest point, with beautiful views of Italy, Switzerland and France. This is a popular starting point for mountain climbers in the summer and off-piste skiers in the winter.
