Highlights in Chamonix
Take a stroll around Chamonix town centre and look at the charming buildings or enjoy a drink and a snack on one of the welcoming terraces! There are also many activities on offer. For example, Chamonix has an ice rink, a swimming-pool, a sauna, a climbing wall and two indoor tennis/squash courts. We also recommend visiting the Alpine Museum. And don’t forget to try the Rablochonade! This is a delicious raclette using the famous regional cheese. You can buy this famous cheese, Tomme de Savoie, in one of the many attractive shops and enjoy it when you are back home.
Winter sports in Chamonix
Enjoy yourself in the large ski area in Chamonix. The first Olympic Winter Games took place here in 1924! Experienced skiers can ski down the mountains Le Brévent and La Flégère on intermediate to very hard pistes. A great challenge! This ski area has green, blue, red and black pistes, so it is also suitable for less experienced skiers. You can also take part in many other winter sports here. You can have a go at cross-country skiing or ice climbing, or you can make a breathtaking hang-gliding trip while taking in the beautiful views.

The attractive town of Chamonix is not only great in the winter; it also has lots to offer in the summer! This area is excellent for hiking, road cycling, mountain biking or paragliding with spectacular views of Mont Blanc. You can also enjoy various water sports, like rafting, kayaking and canoeing. The area is beautiful all year round, especially in the spring and the summer, when the hills are a carpet of flowers.
