Next to National Park Lauwersmeer, in the Frisian village of Anjum, lies Landal Esonstad, a holiday park consisting of 201 homes and apartments, divided in a fortified town and two mounds. The fortified town locates 144 homes and apartments built in old Frisian style with a large diversity of facade typologies and construction types. In addition, 77 modern homes have been built on two mounds. The concept of the holiday park is based on the myth of the lost fortified town of Esonstad and the mounds that are so well-known in Friesland. The project is further characterised by the close connection between recreation and water, as the town is located in an open connection with the Lauwersmeer (lake).
Dormio has acted as advisor during the process of feasibility, concept development, rental, management, as weel as establishment of the legal structure. In addition, Dormio was respnsible for the sales of the project.
