Introduction
In this privacy statement you can read how Dormio uses your data. This Statement relates to the data processing by means of, amongst others, the client base of Dormio processed through our websites and the use of cookies. “Dormio” includes all companies that form part of the Dormio Group. These companies are established at Ir. J.P. van Muijlwijkstraat 7, Arnhem. Dormio respects the privacy of all clients / relations and users of our websites and will ensure that all information provided by you will be treated confidentially. Dormio offers a variety of products and services, and for the proper execution thereof, it may be necessary to collect and store your personal data. This privacy statement was last updated on 3 November 2022 and replaces all previous versions of this privacy statement.

What are the underlying principles?
Dormio will process your personal data according to applicable laws and regulations. On the basis of the General Data Protection Regulation, Dormio must be able to base the processing of your data on one of the legal bases mentioned in this legalization.

We will process your data in particular for the execution of an agreement concluded with you (this will be the case, for example, when you buy a recreational home with us, or when you book a recreational home at one of our resorts for a stay) or on the basis of you given permission (this will be the case if you register for newsletters, for example).

Additionally, Dormio will process your personal data on the basis of a legal obligation (for example keeping a register on the resorts of the guests present) as well as on the basis of looking for legitimate interests, such as applying direct marketing.

Which data do we collect about you and with whom do we share this data?
When you make use of Dormio’s services, we need to record some personal data about you. The main reason why we process your personal data is to make sure you can have a carefree holiday.

Below we will indicate for each product/service which data about you we collect and process.

You sell or rent your recreational home
When you sell or rent your recreational home through Dormio, Dormio will record the following information in its administration:

  • Name, address and contact information;
  • Description of the home, as well as all relevant characteristics;
  • Any photos and videos of the home;
  • Other information provided by you to Dormio.

Your data will be used to execute the mediation assignment you have provided to Dormio. Your data may also be used for;

  • Making your recreational home public at amongst others, on our websites or in the sales / rental brochures of Dormio and those of relations / partners of Dormio;
  • To send information about products and services provided by Dormio, if you wish to decline the mailings, you may contact Dormio at any time.

You are buying a recreational home or you are looking
When you are looking for a recreational home and / or buying a recreational home, Dormio will record the following information in its administration.

Looking for a recreational home

  • Name, address and contact information;
  • Search engine with your housing requirements;
  • Other information provided by you to Dormio.

You are buying a recreational home

  • Name, address and contact information;
  • Information about the home you are buying;
  • Other information provided by you to Dormio.

Your information is being used to maintain contact with you, as well as the drafting of the agreements in the case you buy a recreational home and then for the implementation of these agreements. Additionally your information may be used for:

  • Possible advice, if you request so;
  • To carry out analyzes and reports, so Dormio can improve their services;
  • To send information about products and services provided by Dormio, if you wish to decline the mailings, you may contact Dormio at any time.

You rent a recreational home
When you book a recreational home at Dormio, Dormio will record the following information in its administration:

  • Name, address and contact information;
  • Other information provided by you to Dormio.

Your information will be shared with the resort where you will be staying, as well to third parties involved with your reservation or stay (such as local community, insurance company in case of a purchased travel – or cancellation insurance, a cleaning company). Additionally your information may be used for:

  • The client record of Dormio, in which your information has been saved due to prior reservations as well as prior contacts, so we may provider a faster service;
  • To send a guest survey after your stay, in order for Dormio to improve its service. Your answers may be shared with purveyors engaged by Dormio;
  • To send information about products and services provided by Dormio, if you wish to decline the mailings, you may contact Dormio at any time.

Dormio Website and Social Media
While visiting our website, Instagram, Facebook, and other Social Media, the by you “liked” items and browsed pages will be stored with your permission. For this Dormio collaborates with third parties. Both Dormio as well as the third parties use, amongst others, so-called cookies.

A cookie is a simple small file that is sent with pages from the website and stored by your browser on your computer's hard drive. The stored information in this file can be send to the server at your next visit. On these grounds we can determine your interest more clearly and provide you with relevant information and offers.

In addition to functional cookies, we also use standard analytical cookies. Analytical cookies enable us to measure website visits. These statistics show us how often our website is used, what information visitors are looking for and which pages are visited most frequently.

We continuously analyse and improve our website to make it as user-friendly as possible. The values we collect are completely anonymous, do not allow any conclusions to be drawn about persons or personal data and are therefore always used anonymously.

We use Google Analytics to draw conclusions from the data. We store analytical cookies with every visit to our website. Dormio collaborates, amongst others, with Amplixs, Mailchimp, Afas, Sumo, Zapier, Bookzo, NextPax, Umbraco and Snakeware Cloud. You will find more detailed information about the use of cookies by these parties on each of their websites.

Marketing cookies are used to follow visitors when they visit different websites. Their purpose is to display adverts geared to and relevant to the individual user, which makes them more valuable to publishers and external advertisers.

How long do we keep your data?
Dormio will ensure that your data is adequately secured and that your data is not kept any longer than needed for the above mentioned purposes, unless it is legally required by law that your personal data be stored for a longer period of time.

Is your data transferred to countries outside the EU?
In principle, the data is stored within the European Economic Area (EEA). It may occur, however, that specific data is processed outside the EEA, for example in the United States. Such data will only be processed if sufficient measures have been taken to protect the personal data, in accordance with the legislation on data protection.

What are your rights?
You have:
Right of access: the right to obtain a copy of your personal data.
Right to withdraw permission: the right to withdraw the permission granted, if we process your personal data on the basis of your permission.
Right to rectification: the right to have your data rectified.
Right to data portability: the right to have personal data transferred to another party.
Right to restriction: the right to restrict the way in which data is processed.
Right not to be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing: a decision can be made on the basis of the automated processing of data (without human intervention). This may have consequences. In that case, you will be entitled to a new decision.
Right to object: the right to object to the processing of your data.
Right to transparent information: the right to transparent information about what we do with your personal data.
Right to erasure (“right to be forgotten”): the right to erasure of your personal data if there is no longer a good reason for processing this data.

You also have the right to submit a complaint about the processing of your data to the Dutch Data Protection Authority.
