How far is Dormio Eifeler Tor Resort from the centre of Heimbach?

A train that is also referred to as ‘Bimmelbahn’ leaves from the resort in the direction of Heimbach. During an hour-long trip, you will be told about Heimbach, the Eifel National Park and the area. The sightseeing trip includes going through Hasenfeld and Heimbach and past the Heimbacher man-made lake. You can get on and off at any stop.

You can reach the centre of Heimbach by car in five minutes. You can also walk to the centre in approximately 40 minutes.

Can I bring my dog(s)?

Yes, dogs are allowed in many of our accommodation units at the resort. The fee for including a dog is €5,75 per dog per day. If booking with a pet, please inquire in advance.

Where can I park my car?

Dormio Eifeler Tor Resort is a car-free holiday park. You can only drive to your accommodation unit upon arrival and when leaving. This will ensure you can unload and load your luggage easily. You can park your car at the main car park during your stay.

For how many people is the accommodation unit suitable?

The holiday homes are suitable for 6 to 12 persons. The apartments and penthouses are suitable for 4 to 10 persons. The maximum number of people who can stay in a specific accommodation type is specified in the description of the accommodation. Children and babies are also included in the number.

Am I allowed to receive visitors in my accommodation?

You may receive visitors during your stay. Your visitors must report to reception.

Am I allowed to smoke in the accommodation?

No, we only have smoke-free accommodation units. Smoking is therefore NOT allowed in our holiday homes or apartments.

Can the resort be reached by public transport?

Yes! Heimbach has a train station. The journey from Cologne takes approximately 1.5 hours to Heimbach station. You can take a bus or taxi from the station to Dormio Eifeler Tor Resort. Check out the Deutsche Bahn website for more information.

Is there disability access at the resort?

The location of the Dormio Eifeler Tor Resort is such that it is not suitable for people in a wheelchair. The villas are built on a slope and therefore not suitable or less suitable for people who have difficulties walking. Most of the apartments and facilities are accessible by a lift and are also suitable for people who have difficulties walking.

Are barbecues allowed at the resort?

Barbecuing is allowed at the resort. You may only barbecue electrically on balconies. Coal, gas or open fire barbecues are NOT allowed on balconies.

Are campfires allowed?

Campfires are not allowed at the resort.

Are fireworks allowed at the resort?

Only on New Year's Eve are you allowed to use fireworks at the resort after 10 p.m.

Where can I dispose of my waste?

There are different waste containers positioned around the resort. You can dispose of your plastic, glass, paper/cardboard and residual waste here. They are indicated on the map.

Are there any charging points for electric cars at the resort?

There are ten charging points for electric cars on the car park near the cooking studio.

Yes, English, German and Dutch are spoken at reception.

At what time can I check in?

You can check-in starting from 15:00.



At what time do I have to check out?

You can check out until 10:30.


What are the opening hours of the reception?

The reception of Dormio Resort Eifeler Tor is opened daily.

I have lost my key, what should I do?

If you have lost your key, you must report this to the resort reception.



Is the resort suitable for (small) children?

Yes! Most accommodation units have a high chair and a cot. Dormio Eifeler Tor Resort also has extensive facilities for children including the Mio Kids Club and various playgrounds.

Are there children activities at the resort?

Your children can have lots of fun at the Dormio Eifeler Tor Resort! The Fun & Entertainment team and our friendly mascot Mio will entertain your children during the school holidays with fun outdoor and indoor activities. Ask about the programme at reception. There are also various playgrounds and a children's swimming pool at the resort.


Is there a restaurant at the resort?

The resort has two different restaurants. The Heimbacher Brauhaus is a charming restaurant that serves typical German dishes. In the Italian Casa Ruscello restaurant, you feel as if you are in Italy. To be guaranteed a table, book one in advance at reception or the restaurant itself.

In addition, you will find Imbiss Der Turm at the end of the promenade that serves very tasty Dutch and German snacks.

Can I hire bicycles at the resort?

You will also find a bicycle rental shop at the welcoming promenade of the Dormio Eifeler Tor Resort. You can rent different types of electric bicycles and mountain bikes at the Eifel Rad bicycle rental shop. Naturally, this includes great tips for a bike ride in the area!

Does the resort have laundry facilities?

Yes, there is a launderette at the resort that has 3 washing machines and 2 dryers. You can use them for a fee.

Can I make (free) use of the wellness facilities?

You can book a great massage or use the sauna subject to payment. Ask about the options at reception.

Is there a swimming pool at the resort?

There is a lovely indoor pool for all ages, an outdoor pool and a children's play pool.

Is there free Wi-Fi at the resort?

Yes, there is (free) Wi-Fi coverage throughout the resort.

Is it possible to rent (a) bicycle(s)?

City bikes, e-bikes and kids bikes of very good quality and with a choice of different gears can be rented at “Eifel Rad” at the resort. At the bike rental, various cycling routes and maps are available to discover the beautiful surroundings.

Do I need to pay a deposit?

A deposit of up to € 300 per accommodation may be asked.

For larger groups, a deposit of € 100 per person is requested or a credit card is required.

How does the payment work?

For reservations at the flexible price full payment is due 14 days prior to arrival. For reservations at the standard price (non-cancellable, non-refundable, not modifiable), the total amount of the stay must be paid immediately. During the booking process you will be redirected to our payment provider where you can pay online.

Is it possible to cancel a reservation?

Reservations made at the standard price (non-cancellable, non-refundable, non modifiable) cannot be cancelled free of charge. Reservations made at the flexible price can be cancelled and/or modified up to 14 days prior to arrival. Can I change my reservation?

If you have made a reservation at the flexible price, you can change your reservation up to 14 days before arrival. All changes are subject to availability. Please contact our reservations department at reservations@dormio.eu or by phone on +31 85 013 40 40. Reservations made at the standard price (non-cancellable, non-refundable, non modifiable) cannot be changed.

Is it possible to extend my reservation?

How can I make a reservation?

How do I know whether my online reservation has been received correctly?

Within two working days after making your reservation, you will receive a confirmation email that will include the invoice.

Will my payment be confirmed?

No, we will not send you payment confirmation.

Will I receive travel documents?

No, you will not receive any travel documents. You can check in using the reservation confirmation/invoice.

Can I book multiple accommodation units?
