The Dormio Resort Les Portes Du Grand Massif area is highly impressive in both the winter and summer. In the winter the varied French Alps guarantee snow for the skiing area with very good snow conditions. The beautiful Le Grand Massif ski resort in the Haute-Savoie has extremely good snow conditions thanks to its geographical location in the pre-Alps with Mont Blanc as a buffer.
In Flaine you have what may be the nicest view of Mont Blanc of all. At a height of 2,500 metres from the top of Grandes Platières you can wonder at a breathtaking 360 ° view of Mont Blanc, the Aravis, the Belledonne and the Jura. You can take the Grandes Platières cable car to get there. Are you a seasoned hiker? You can also take a walk up, with the walk taking approximately 3 hours.

Flaine is the ultimate destination for an active skiing holiday. Are you a skilled wintersports person? If so you will love this challenging ski region! With 265 kilometres of slopes, Le Grand Massif ski resort is the fifth biggest contiguous ski region in France. The area is at an altitude of 900 to no less than 2,500 metres and has beautiful panoramic views of the French side of the famous Mont Blanc.
Do you want to enjoy a fantastic view of the French, Swiss and Italian Alps? Then a visit to Aiguille du Midi is really something for you. You can take various lifts up from Chamonix. The third lift ultimately takes you to the viewing platform at an altitude of no less than 3,842 metres. You can enjoy a breathtaking view from this point. At this highest point you will find ‘Step into the Void’, a glass room with glass floor suspended above the abyss. Are you a mountaineer? If so, this location is a real must!

Samoëns lies at the heart of the ‘Le Grand Massif’ ski resort together with the other 4 skiing villages; Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval, les Carroz, Flaine and Morillon. The small authentic village of Samoëns is the only wintersports location in France with the status of ‘Monument Historique’. In this cosy village you can take a lovely walk, do a little shopping and enjoy a tasty lunch in one of the small restaurants.
