UNESCO building Sainte-Marie de La Tourette
Saint-Marie de La Tourette is a unique priory in the French municipality of Éveux. This listed building was designed by Le Corbusier and was completed in 1960. It has a minimalist design, as befits a priory’s purpose. You can not only admire this priory from the outside, but you can also visit it. This impressive building was added to the list of UNESCO world heritage sites on 17 July 2016.
UNESCO building Maison de la Culture de Firminy
La Maison de la Culture de Firminy, the House of Culture and Youth, is now used as a cultural establishment. Le Corbusier designed this striking building, which was built in 1965. The House of Culture and Youth is the only building in Firminy designed by Le Corbusier which was completed during his lifetime. The Maison de la Culture regularly organises shows and art exhibitions. This creative masterpiece is a unique UNESCO world heritage site which is certainly worth a visit!
