Mont Blanc, with an altitude of 4,808 metres, is the absolute high point of the French Alps. You can walk to the top or take the cable car or tramway. At the top of Mont Blanc you will have a breathtaking view of the amazing mountain landscape.


Arguably the most spectacular viewpoint is Aiguille du Midi, at an altitude of 3,842 metres. From this viewpoint you have a wonderful view of Mont Blanc, France and Italy. True adventurers can have a look inside the glass cube, where you can look down 1,000 metres through the glass floor!

Visit the vibrant town of Chamonix-Mont-Blanc

Chamonix-Mont-Blanc, or just Chamonix, is an attractive small town at the foot of the Mont Blanc, which holds many surprises for mountain enthusiasts. Because of its favourable situation, it calls itself “the world capital of mountaineering”. As a guest of Dormio Resort Les Portes Du Mont Blanc you can travel to and from Chamonix by train free of charge


There is lots going on in Chamonix in the summer. You can admire the charming buildings, enjoy something to eat and drink or visit the Alpine Museum. Chamonix also has an ice rink, a swimming-pool, a sauna, a climbing wall and two indoor tennis/squash courts. Sampling a tasty Rablochonade is highly recommended for cheese lovers. This is a delicious raclette using the famous regional cheese, which you can also buy in one of the many attractive shops.

Admire unique UNESCO landmarks

The beautiful surroundings have a number of unique landmarks that have been added to the UNESCO World Heritage List. Near Dormio Resort Les Portes Du Mont Blanc you will find the creative masterpieces of Le Corbusier. These beautiful buildings show global developments in architecture. You can also visit the beautiful Sainte-Marie de La Tourette priory, the construction of which was completed in 1960. Nearby, you will also find the striking Maison de la Culture de Firminy, which is used as a cultural centre. These special landmarks are definitely worth a visit during your stay in Vallorcine!

The city of Geneva in Switzerland is about a 1.5-hour drive from the resort. Geneva has many beautiful sights, such as the St Pierre Cathedral, Place du Bourg du Four, the Geneva Water Fountain and Parc des Bastions. A visit to this beautiful city is certainly worth the effort!
