Go underground in Maastricht Underground
Make sure to visit the impressive caves during your visit in Maastricht. The Mergelgrotten in Maastricht form the largest underground system of corridors in Europe. The caves and corridors were dug out by hand in the 18th century and had a total length of 200 kilometres at the time. Today, the corridors have a total length of about 80 kilometres.
