The Vías Verdes (green roads) are former railway lines running through Spain. There are already more than 90 Vías Verdes with about 1900 km of hiking and cycling routes to nice hidden places. There is no motorized traffic allowed on the Vias Verdes. In the Province of Alicante there are four green roads: Alcoy-Agost, Agost-Puerto del Maigmó, Vía Verde de las Salinas (Torrevieja) and Xixarra 2 (Alicante-Biar) and have a length of approximately 7 to 20 km. It is a different way of exploring the area with mountains and valleys, bridges and viaducts and tunnels of over a hundred years old.

Various wines are produced on the Costa Blanca. For example the sweet dessert wine from the Moscatel grape. However nowadays red and rosé wines are also produced on the Costa Blanca. Due to the heat in the summer, the vines are grown close to the ground. There are three 'Denominación de Origen' areas: Alicante, Utiel-Requena and Valencia.
