The best viewpoints on the Costa Blanca!

One of the best things to do on the Costa Blanca is to enjoy a magnificent sunset. It is ideal to spend a romantic moment with your partner, or to end a day with the family hiking.

Luckily, all along the coastal area and very close to Dormio Resort Costa Blanca, you can find incredible viewpoints where you can let yourself fall in love with breathtaking views where the blue of the sea combines perfectly with the colours of the mountains.

We'll tell you about some of them that you can't miss, take note!

Illeta Tower El Campello

Illeta Tower (El Campello)

Also known as Torre de la Isleta, this building is undoubtedly the icon of Campello. It was built in the 16th century, along with four other watchtowers to warn of the arrival of Barbary pirates and prevent their attacks on the town. Today, this viewpoint of Campello is an emblem of the town, and a place with spectacular views. To gain access to its interior it is necessary to speak to the Tourist Office.

Santa Bárbara Castle Alicante

Santa Bárbara Castle (Alicante)

The Castle of Santa Bárbara is located in the city of Alicante, on the highest point of Mount Benacantil. There, you can find the best views of the city of Alicante, its port, and the whole coast, both by day and by night. You also have the option of going up by bus, although the route on foot is highly recommended.

Balcony of the Mediterranean Benidorm

Balcony of the Mediterranean (Benidorm)

Located in the area of Benidorm Castle, the Balcón del Mediterráneo is the town's viewpoint par excellence. It is a peninsula in the shape of a pentagon, located practically in the sea. From here, you can discover views of both the Poniente and Levante beaches, as it is right in the middle. What's more, this Benidorm viewpoint offers a panoramic view of the city's famous skyline. To get there, you'll have to walk through the old quarter of the city, full of streets with a special charm, along with pretty terraces and cosy restaurants, a pleasant stroll for all the family.

Benidorm Cross

Benidorm Cross

The best views of the city of skyscrapers will be from this point. It is situated in the Sierra Helada Natural Park, some two hundred metres above sea level, above the Rincón de Loix and Levante beach. It is an easily accessible viewpoint of Benidorm where you can enjoy the panoramic view of both beaches and its tall buildings. Since recently, access by car is limited to residents, so to get here we can make the whole route on foot along the paved road and even make a stop at the beautiful cove Tio Ximo.

Benidorm Cross

Balcony of Alicante

The Maigmó is an emblematic peak of the Costa Blanca that offers one of the best known views of the area, the balcony of Alicante. From here, you will enjoy spectacular views of the entire coast of Alicante, in the middle of nature. It is easily accessible by car, and it also has a parking area, although if you prefer, there is also a route through the mountains. There you will find picnic areas and benches where you can have lunch. This viewpoint in Alicante is a perfect place to spend time with family and friends in contact with nature.

Forat de Bèrnia Altea

Forat de Bèrnia (Altea)

Near the beautiful town of Altea there is a route that takes us to the Forat de Bèrnia, a place with an incomparable charm. This easy-medium difficulty hike will take you through the Sierra de Bèrnia to a tunnel in the middle of the mountain with incredible views, known as El Forat. From this viewpoint in Altea you will be able to see the bay and all its urbanisations, Alfaz del Pi and La Nucía, as well as several mountains such as the Sierra Helada, the Puig Campana or the Sierra de Aitana. Undoubtedly, a very special excursion that ends with an incredible landscape.

Rock of Ifach Calpe

Rock of Ifach (Calpe)

The Peñón de Ifach is a 337-metre high monolith located in the coastal town of Calpe. Its great elevation makes it an incredible place to glimpse the entire Mediterranean Sea, as from the highest point you can even reach the island of Formentera. The path to the top consists of two parts: the first is a perfectly signposted path, which is easy and can be done without any problem, the second part is of moderate difficulty, as it will be necessary to climb over some rocks or up some worn and slippery steps. During the first section you will also find some fantastic views, but the most special one, the Carabineros viewpoint, is at the top.
