Alicante

Alicante is located 24 kilometres from Dormio Resort Costa Blanca. The city is easily accessible from the resort, by car as by train. Those wanting to shop, or go out or go sightseeing can easily do so in Alicante. Central point in the city is the Explanada de España, a beautiful pedestrian boulevard with lots of greenery. Pride of the city is the Castillo de Santa Bárbara, a castle on the top of Monte Benecantil.

 

Want to go to Alicant? Choose for a relaxing trip by tram! The tram stop is within walking distance of the resort. Here you can easily take the tram to Alicante. After a beautiful route along the coast, via the towns of San Juan and Muchavista, you reach the cozy Plaza de Los Luceros in the center of Alicante within 25 minutes.

Benidorm

This former fishing village has grown over the years to a very large seaside resort filled place, where millions of people spend their summer holidays. Many people will visit Benidorm during the winter for the mild climate. The greatest attraction points for tourists is the lively nightlife of the city and the wide sandy beaches that can be reached on foot from town centre.

Altea and Calpe

Of all the towns along the coast, Altea is certainly one of the most beautiful. Altea is located at 10 kilometres north of Benidorm and has in its nice old town the beautiful church Parroquia Nuestra Señora Del Consuelo, a square in front of the church and the white houses with a large number of art galleries. An impressive view can be found slightly further north along the coast, past Calpe: from here you can see the cape and Penyal d'Ifac natural park (Peñón de Ifach) from afar. It towers over three hundred meters above the Mediterranean Sea.

Pirate Island Tabarca

Sail from Torrevieja to Tabarca, the smallest inhabited island of Spain. Tabarca has about 50 inhabitants and is only 1800 meters long and 400 meters wide. At Tabarca you find an azure blue sea, beautiful views and colourful fishermen's houses. From May to October, a catamaran with a see-through floor departs from the marina to the island daily at 11 am, provided by Maritimas Torrevieja – ferry service.

Inlands

Time stood still almost everywhere in Inlands where you can experience Spain like in the early days. Such as Guadelest, located near Benidorm. The castle of Guadelest offers a beautiful glance into the Spanish life of the past. The castle gives you a view over the stunning surroundings with the mountains, the reservoirs and the village itself.

Local markets

In every village you will find fresh markets with local products. Distinctive is the daily flea market in the village of Jalón, 40 km north of Benidorm. Antiques, trinkets and art form the main part of the trade. You can also taste delightful wines there.
